Rapper 21 Savage has had a trying past couple years from his near deportation in 2019 to his brother being stabbed to death in 2020, but it looks like he might be finally catching a break now with 2021 coming to a close. His brother TM1way, whose real name is Terrell Davis was stabbed to death at 27 while of all things grocery shopping for his elderly grandmother 2 years ago. Savage, whose real name is Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph wrote on Instagram at the time, “can’t believe somebody took you baby bro I know I took my anger out on you I wish I could take that s**t back.”
Shortly after the attack happened, a man by the name of Tyrece Fuller was charged with Davis’ murder and found guilty of manslaughter 8 months later. Now he’s just been sentenced to ten years in prison with the presiding judge weighin saying, “This is yet another tragic example of the curse of knife crime in London. A young man’s life has needlessly been cut short by the willingness of young men to pick up a knife or blade and to use it when there are far easier and far safer and better ways of resolving the situation.”
What makes all of this so bad is that the murderer wasn’t present for his sentencing because he refused to leave his cell. The judge said he displayed a “lack of courage.” Seeing this situation being wrapped up should be able to help him sleep at night although it’s hard to imagine how committing murder can equate to just 10 years in prison, it’s a start. No word from Savage on his thoughts about the sentencing have come in yet.
