Rapper A$AP Rocky has been behind bars close to a month now for the assault of a 19 year old Afghan refugee who according to A$AP was stalking him. After a day of following him around harassing him, him and his team defended themselves. This has lead up to a possible 2 years in prison and today being his first court date on the matter. It had to be delayed due to public interest with some turned away due to the public gallery filling up. There’s a 522 page preliminary report that includes extensive photos of injuries the alleged victim sustained. He’s requesting around $15,000 for damages. The images appear to be consistent with the claim that the victim had been attacked with a bottle or some type of a blunt object. An attorney for one of A$AP’s co-defendants states he has evidence that should prove that the rapper and the two men he was with should be proven not guilty. The evidence is expected to be shown in court Thursday.
The trial is scheduled to be held Tuesday, Thursday and Friday although it could finish before then. Assault with a deadly weapon carries a maximum of 2 years and at the moment, given photos of injuries, the bottle used and text messages, it seems there is quite a lot of evidence against Rocky although, remember he has footage of him being stalked. President Trump has attempted to work something out via diplomacy with Swedish Prime Minister although the Prime Minister didn’t appear that accommodating. One failed attempt at diplomacy came from a fan of his who entered the Swedish Embassy last Tuesday who threatened to “blow this motherf*cker up.” She was arrested by Secret Service, but not before she started kicking furniture We’ll be reporting more on this case as it progresses.
