Bill Cosby is a man of many hats and while the world may seemingly have collectively thrown him away but he’s now reportedly found a captive audience who will listen to his motivational speeches. And by captive, we do mean literally as a rep of his says he’s been giving lectures from behind bars on both life but reconnecting with their families as fathers. When we first heard this, we thought he was just giving advice to other prisoners, but he’s having full on lectures and up to 4 a week with crowds of over 100 prisoners per session. This is being done with the rehabilitation group Man Up.
Some would ask how is Cosby giving life advice to others and who would listen, but keep in mind, he IS in prison. It isn’t exactly an environment to judge the decisions of others. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. He still has his celebrity status and there are plenty of people who have valued his words over the years, despite the messenger being flawed. These are the types of men he has wanted to get his messages across to for years, and now he has a totally captive audience,” his rep Andrew Wyatt stated. He’s even been throwing a little comedy in there because after all, sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying and where he is now, a little laughter wouldn’t hurt. Cosby’s currently serving 3 to 10 year sentence for drugging and assaulting Andrea Constand last April.
And just because he’s locked up, it doesn’t mean he’s relinquishing his title as America’s favorite dad as this Father’s Day, he basically said, “f*ck what you heard, this is still who I am whether you like it or not.” A tweet came from his official account saying, “Hey, Hey, Hey…It’s America’s Dad…I know it’s late, but to all of the Dads… It’s an honor to be called a Father, so let’s make today a renewed oath to fulfilling our purpose —strengthening our families and communities.” At the end of the day, he’s remaining positive in his old age and spending his time trying to help other people which is a good thing. I mean, there’s worse things he could be doing with his time, right?
