Boyz II Men singer Shawn Stockman has a son with autism that he’s spent the last 8 years having a charity in his name called Micah’s Voice. In a recent interview on TMZ Live talking about his recent efforts in helping children with autism, he stated he’s partnered with the watchmaker SEVENFRIDAY selling a limited edition timepiece $998 a piece. There’s only 100 for sale so supplies are limited.
He stated that during the pandemic he added up how much he had spent on bills for their autistic son and was astonished at the cost. Then add COVID19 and of course there are people who are struggling to cover these costs which is what he and his wife Sharonda are hoping they can help others with. Watch his interview for more info on purchasing one of these timepieces.
The last time we heard from Stockman, he was telling People Magazine earlier this year about the group Boyz II Men’s original name. it was Unique Attraction. He described it as being a “pretty corny” name. “It all began when we heard New Edition’s song ‘Boys to Men’ on the radio. Nate [Morris] and I were on the phone talking about changing our name because we thought the one we had sucked.”
“I was like, ‘Yo, that should be our name. I’m telling you, it sounds like a concept,'” the tenor vocalist recalls. Bandmate Morris wasn’t very fond of the new moniker at first, “but he couldn’t find anything better, so we stuck with that. Thank God that song came on. It was an evanescent moment,” Stockman said laughing.
