Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion have had tremendous success with their single WAP with 93 million streams in the US the first week of its release, a new record propelling it to the Number One spot on the Hot 100. To celebrate, they’re giving away $1 million through a partnership with Twitter and Cashapp.
To all everyone supporting #WAP we see you!! we’re partnering with Twitter and Cash App to celebrate all the powerful women out there by giving away a total of $1 million dollars.

“Today through 8/20, women who Tweet with #WAPParty and their $Cashtag will have a chance at receiving a portion of the 1M dollars through Cash App,” the announcement reads. “To celebrate and honor the inspirational conversation that’s been happening in response to the song, Meg and Cardi will be giving back to women in a big way, starting today.”
That’s $500 for 2,000 people. While this is quite different of a strategy for music promotion, this is 2020, we’re in a new age of getting the public’s attention and we like this strategy.

And to add to the excitement, a lyric video for the song has just been released and this is arguably one of the best lyric videos ever made. Directed by Yasha Gruben, it shows an onlooker looking through a peephole and getting quite the eyeful on the other side. So while you’re out singing all the nasty lyrics to your man or potential man, you now can make sure you’ve got the lyrics correct.
