Just as we had reported that rapper DMX’ friend, comedian b claiming he had died was false, just hours later he did actually die. Friday morning he was said to be experiencing “significant organ failure.” Family and friends had been flying in to see him and his mother, fiance and ex-wife were all staying at his home and his friends’ places near the hospital.
His family released a statement saying, “We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days.” It went on to read, “Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end,” the family continued. “He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him.”
Def Jam Records released a statement on his passing as well…

Hollywood has reigned in paying their respects with rapper T.I. tweeting, “Rest In Peace to a cultural icon. There are no words that can mend the loss the hip-hop community felt today 🕊 #RIPDMX.” Viola Davis wrote, “RIP DMX. I pray for the comfort of your children and loved ones. 🙏🏿💛” Jada Pinkett Smith wrote, DMXDMXDMXDMXDMXDMXDMXDMXDMXDMXDMXDMXDMXDMX❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️”
And we can’t finish this without addressing one last time the sheer disrespect from the NYPost covering the homes that he lost days before his passing when it wasn’t clear that he was even going to live. We recommend writing their editorial board to let them know how what they green lit that day was wrong and disrespectful.
Let’s put some good DMX vibes on the timeline. This was him earlier last week rocking out to MJ. 💓🙏🏾 pic.twitter.com/O4xuZWpYWs

Often times we say “Rest In Peace” simply as something we are supposed to say upon hearing of someone’s death.
However, I’m unsure of anyone I can say I wish finds peace in their rest more than DMX.

Movies, Music and Life … DMX lived.
