Kanye West has been having his own church service every Sunday for a little while now, since the beginning of the year to be exact, where he does a gospel rendition of his music. If you didn’t know it’s probably because he doesn’t allow filming even though we’ve seen a couple clips. He chooses a new location every week so it’s super exclusive. But for those who HAVE in fact been following it, they’ve noticed that two of his close friends haven’t attended yet and it’s causing some tongues to wag. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend were at his wedding but not at his church service.
Quick to quell rumors about a potential beef between the two couples, in an interview with Cosmopolitan, Teigen said the reason is really quite simple. She says Sunday is really the only time she, her husband and two kids Luna and Miles get to spend time together because of his schedule with The Voice which is why she hasn’t quite had the chance. “I want to go so badly. We’re just always busy because I feel like Sunday is our only day where John doesn’t have The Voice.” She went on to say “We want to be able to gather up everybody because I know Luna would love to hear that music so much — it’s gospel and it’s a way to bring everybody together… So we want to go so, so badly, but we just haven’t made it out there.”
While that was a not explanation Teigen gave, there is a bit of a riff in the friendships between the two and all over Kanye’s politics. They all pretty much stopped speaking to each other. As recently as last October Teigen was saying she was hoping the two men would patch things up because it made things very awkward for the rest of the family as she and Kim Kardashian are close not to mention the children all enjoy being around each other. It’s also worth noting that Teigen said the low point in her marriage was Kim and Kanye’s wedding because they had a massive blowup in front of everyone all stemming from Teigen feeling insecure. She told Andy Cohen that she felt out of place with all of these important people there and that the drinks didn’t help either.
Oh, and the Legends also haven’t met the latest installment to the Kardashian clan, Psalm. She’s also said the Kardashians now seem complete. She told People Magazine ‘I think [the name Psalm] is beautiful. I know they wanted something biblical and I think they feel so set with their family now, it’s so complete. Four has to be such a trip, I can’t even imagine – two feels like a million.’
So maybe they’re not actually beefing but Chrissy, if you’re reading this, pull out your calendar and drag everyone to one of Kanye’s services. You all will feel a lot better once you patch things up and the sooner the better.
