Comedian Yung Poppy has been noticeably absent from the internet where he made a name for himself with skits of his and if you had been wondering why, it’s because he’s currently serving 12 years for knowingly suppying someone with drugs laced with fentanyl. After the woman died of an overdose, the comedian whose real name is Michael Steen II plead guilty in March 2020 and has since begun serving his sentence.
The great part about this is that Steen is currently working to help people fight fentanyl addiction and supporting a program that is creating a curriculum to help at-risk youth so that they won’t get into either drug dealing or usage in the first place. The organization is Walk With Me Impact described on its Kickstarter page as “a book set designed to provide targeted prevention curriculum for youth at the highest risk for adverse childhood experiences. Currently designed for at-risk males, the education provided in the book set is broken up into three levels for elementary, middle, and high school ages. Our overall goal is to complete this book set and have them available for purchase by youth programs, parents, schools, and any individual who would like to use this tool.

Steen is described as a program contributor that “fell victim to drug abuse after instant social media fame and is now serving a 13 year sentence for a fentanyl related overdose. Armand is currently working with the incarcerated social media influencer Yung Poppy (1.7million followers) to bring awareness.”
We had been wondering why we hadn’t seen Steen posting online and usually when people vanish, we get suspicious and start doing research. Apparently we missed all of the hooblah about him being in prison but can say that we felt the need to check on him after seeing his frequent contributor Skaterrboyy20 posting his content where we were reminded he hadn’t been posting or commenting. We do wish Steen the best and hope the curriculum that he’s working on turns out to be successful. If you’re interested in donating to Walk With Me Impact, you can do so here.
