Cuba Gooding, Jr. isn’t the only person on Empire having issues with attacks and just like Jussie Smollett, he’s reported to be the perpetrator. He’s reportedly going to surrender to authorities in New York City over a groping incident that occurred over the weekend. The event took place Saturday night at the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar in Midtown at the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar Saturday night, (June 8th). “The woman said Gooding was ‘highly intoxicated’ and that, after the alleged grab, she got into an argument with him that had to be broken up by security,” a source revealed. Other partygoers described Gooding as being “happy” and wearing a torn button down shirt. A source described Gooding as “allegedly grope[ing] her breasts. The victim later told cops she protested at the unwanted touching and they argued about the encounter.” She left to call the police around 1am after it all happened.
The case has been referred to NYPD Special Victims Division. “The NYPD takes sexual assault extremely seriously, and urges anyone who has been a victim to file a police report so we can perform a comprehensive investigation, and offer support and services to survivors,” a statement by police Monday, June 10th stated.
Whenever these things take place, it’s always hard to imagine how or why they would behave in such a manner. As a famous person they should be able to get anyone they want, right? This could be a plausible explanation or even that the reporting victim is just an extortionist, that is if he didn’t have a pattern of abusive behavior in the past. In 2016 he was accused of being “beyond frisky” in Miami where he was alleged to have pulled his pants down and put his phone in his mouth in a nightclub. “He’s like Jekyll and Hyde … He goes from being super-friendly to super-aggressive,” a source stated in the past about him. In 2012 he was irate about fans who wanted to take pics with him resulting in an arrest warrant for repeatedly shoving a bartender trying to calm him down as it was occurring.
Given that the top show he’s been on since 2015, Empire has been canceled, that may have him acting a little off kilter. Look at Game of Thrones’ Kit Harrington. He had to go to rehab after the show was canceled. If this is a situation where Gooding needs help, we sincerely hope he gets it instead of acting out.
