Dolly Parton just turned 73 and has been performing for over 60 years and 20 since she’s been in the Country Music Hall of Fame making a Grammys tribute to her more than appropriate. At the 61st annual Grammy Awards last night she received a well deserved tribute performance by Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves, her goddaughter Miley Cyrus, Maren Morris and Little Big Town. Songs performed were Here You Come Again, 9 to 5 and Jolene, along with some of her newer work including Red Shoes from her 2018 album, Dumplin.”

The performance didn’t exactly go as expected because sources have said that Katy Perry didn’t do what they rehearsed but chose to make it all about herself… and Dolly wasn’t amused.

“Dolly let the producers have it, because that was not the performance Katy gave during rehearsals,” the source said. “When she came out making all those weird hand gestures and singing out of pitch, everyone was like, ‘What?!’”

On top of Katy clearing deviating from the original plans for her performance, she also didn’t apologize for her obvious attention grabbing moment.

“Katy said she was just trying to stand out, and she didn’t want to be just another background singer for Dolly,” the source claimed. “But that is what she was there to do!”

In other Katy Perry news, a 2017 deposition was just unsealed in the case where Kesha claimed Dr. Luke raped her that shows Lady Gaga claimed Dr. Luke raped Katy Perry. She said Interscope CEO John Janick made the accusation in regards to a conversation about bringing her over to the label.

What Lady Gaga is reported to have said is a pretty loaded accusation to make about a label head. It’s also serious on Katy Perry’s part to have information like that become public about you. Is it possible that her trying to upstage Dolly Parton was to show that she’s still viable as an artist in case some sort of industry backlash occurse from all of this?
