Frank Gatson has been an industry staple responsible for many of the dance routines we’ve come to know and enjoy for the last 30+ years. With that being said, his critique of vocal ability should probably be taken with a grain of salt. He recently commented on this new supergroup that BET is putting together of stars from a number of past girl groups saying that they can’t sing as well as June’s Diary.

June’s Diary is a the girl group that he and Kelly Rowland put together spawning from BET’s 2016 Chasing Destiny series in 2016. Gatson now manages them. as for this new girl group, it’ll be consisting of Pamela Long of Total, sisters Irish and LeMisha Grinstead from 702, Shamari DeVoe of Blaque, Aubrey O’Day of Danity Kane, Kiely Williams of 3LW, and twins Felisha and Fallon King of Cherish and last but not least, singer Nivea.

Regarding Gatson’s thoughts on this group, he said, “[ June’s Diary] will out sing and outperform any of those girl group members they are trying to put together.”

While his industry knowledge is certainly valued, his expertise is dancing. It reminds us of a remark Mariah Carey made when it came to how she made her comeback. She said she only took advice from people in their respective fields. All other opinions she wouldn’t allow. So perhaps he should stick to dancing and leave the vocal ability judging to others? We’re just saying.
