R Kelly’s back in hot water again. Last Thursday a former employee of his testified before a grand jury in Chicago that he had more sex tapes involving minors that he kept as trophies. One of those tapes made their way to Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and a number of others went to investigators. Kelly’s attorney Steve Greenberg said “This seems to be the same claims that were made in the state case. We will address them in court.”
Now as of Thursday, Kelly was charged with another 11 new counts to include aggravated criminal sexual assault which can total 30 years in prison. The charging documents include sex or oral sex with a minor “by the use of force or threat of force” which took place between 2009 and 2010. That case he made songs about and talked about being exonerated from for years ended in 2008 and as you can see, he allegedly went right back out doing the exact same thing again and above all else that’s so crazy about it all… he filmed himself. In the rules to breaking the law, at the very top is not filming yourself committing the act.
Kelly’s new charges are in addition to the 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of minors he received in February. Nine of those counts include victims between 13 and 17 to include 4 victims. And they all took place between 1998 and 2010. In the state of Illinois, the statute of limitations on sexual abuse against minors can go as far as 20 years meaning the clock is starting to run out but even if some of the incidents don’t make that time frame, it sounds as though there’s enough other evidence against him to make his future not look so good. And this isn’t everything as New York’s Eastern and Southern Districts both have ongoing probes into his behavior. We’ll be reporting more on this as details reveal themselves.
