Now that it’s been 6 months since model Hailey Baldwin and singer Justin Bieber have been married, they’re now ready to give interviews about how it’s been going. And can you blame them for waiting? They’re young and they probably wanted to make sure it was going to work first. They don’t want to be like Danielle Staub from the Real Housewives of New Jersey who ended up separating from her husband by the time her wedding episode aired. Last night on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Hailey jumped right into it discussing the struggles of adjusting to married life.

“Married life is awesome.” But James dug further. The British host then asked what’s the biggest difference between “not being married and being married. I think for me it’s cohabitating with another human,” It resulted in a laugh from Alicia Keys who was also a guest on the show. She laughed because we’re sure she remembers those days, although she’s now been married for almost 9 years. Their other struggle is a proper wedding as Hailey and Bieber got married in a courthouse and have rescheduled their wedding three times so far.

Now as for this joint interview the two gave, they have quite the enviable lovey-dovey type cover of Vogue. “The thing is, marriage is very hard,” Baldwin admitted to Vogue in the magazine’s March cover story. “That is the sentence you should lead with. It’s really effing hard.” And Bieber said “Fighting is good.” Well, not all fighting. (See Chris Brown and Bow Wow, but at least they’re willing to address their issues.) “Doesn’t the Bible talk about righteous anger? We don’t want to lose each other. We don’t want to say the wrong thing, and so we’ve been struggling with not expressing our emotions, which has been driving me absolutely crazy because I just need to express myself, and it’s been really difficult to get her to say what she feels.” And who would’ve thought Bieber read the Bible? lol

The important part is that they’re working on thing. “I’m fighting to do this the right way, to build a healthy relationship. I want people to know that. We’re coming from a really genuine place. But we’re two young people who are learning as we go,” she told the mag.

“I’m not going to sit here and lie and say it’s all a magical fantasy,” she continued. “It’s a choice. You don’t feel it every single day. You don’t wake up every day saying, ‘I’m absolutely so in love and you are perfect.’ That’s not what being married is. But there’s something beautiful about it anyway — about wanting to fight for something, commit to building with someone. We’re really young, and that’s a scary aspect. We’re going to change a lot. But we’re committed to growing together and supporting each other in those changes. That’s how I look at it. At the end of the day, too, he’s my best friend. I never get sick of him.”
