Like the rest of the world, Halle Berry’s been trying to make the best out of being at home with children trying to remain sane and keep from climbing the walls. Just last night, Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star Masika Kalysha asked for tips on how to keep her children from talking and Floyd Mayweather has to deal with his daughter Iyanna facing a possible 20 years for stabbing a girl over rapper NBA Youngboy. So it’s safe to say everyone’s a bit on edge. So it’s understandable that Halle Berry might let her 6 year old son Maceo walk through the house in heels, which she recorded for Instagram.

Captioned with “#Quarantine Day 12,” the post was meant to be lighthearted fun, but a lot of fans saw it differently. “That’s how it starts,” a commentor wrote and “My son never played in heels,” another wrote. Seeing this was getting out of hand, she responded, “Harmless fun. Tryna survive right now. You feel me?” And it’s understandable. How many of the people commenting did something silly or embarrassing that their parents didn’t get a chance to record or on top of that, had the privilege of there being no social media to embarrass you at the time. It could be worse. She could be in the same boat as English soccer player Kyle Walker arrested for violating lockdown rules for a sex party with a couple prostitutes with him and a friend he got them for.

And it’s not like the child announced being trans. Can we spare the Gabrielle Union/Dwyane Wade treatment here? That’s her child. I don’t want to wake up later and see Boosie on Twitter crying saying not to cut his d*ck off like he did in a desperate plea to Wade. But God bless her heart, because she tried to state her case to a few people but as is usually the case with trolls, if you give them an inch, they’ll take a mile. In response to one saying, “she’s having the time of her life lol,” she said,”Well it’s a he and he is having a ball. Tryna cope the best he can. Laughter helps a lot right now !” In another comment she wrote, “It’s tight on these kids right now,” adding “Let’s have a laugh and some compassion.”

This is a bit of a departure of what she said on The Today Show last year when she said she didn’t want to have her kids plastered all over the internet. And to be fair, she hasn’t. But cabin fever will bring out out of the ordinary behavior in all of us. At least no one’s being abused in her house. Spousal and child abuse is said to be up. So let’s just take our wins where we can get them these days, ok?
