We’re a quarter into 2022 and we thought we would check in with our friends to see how everyone is doing. Considering events like how rapper J $tash committed suicide and took his girlfriend with him or the fact we still have COVID deaths going on and including people such as Andre Leon Talley, we felt it was important. And we’re coming closer to the end of the pandemic, so things should be good, right? Well we barely made it two months into the year without war breaking out and the WW3 memes and jokes we’ve been making for years all of a sudden look like they could really be happening. But so far our friends seem to be taking things pretty well and for those that aren’t, they’ve got our prayers.
Some of who we got to tell us how they’re doing include singer Tyler Jacob simply saying he was “Blessed, highly favored. Protected by the most high” and said it “feels so good to be Alive.” Rapper Bry’Nt said about New Year’s resolutions, “I don’t believe in resolutions! At birth, there was a plan, and I’ve always stuck to it, no matter the year. And that is to pursue happiness and create a legacy that I’ll be proud of. That’s Brycon shit.” Actor and model Na’eem Walton said with all that’s going on in the world it’s important to “Keep going and embrace all challenges.” Rapper Flocko Z beat a case so far this year, and Essence Magazine Eye Candy Darryl Chambers said althoug hhe hasn’t kept any of his resolutions so far this year, he’s hosting a new hip hop competition show, The Drop and appeared in a new film out this year, Jay, released through AMC. Rapper 804Leak who we’ve posted his music before is working on a new album called Glasshouse we’re looking forward to hearing. And for fans of Giovanni V, if you weren’t aware that he made music, now’s the time to tap in and check him out. He’s working on a visual album for his sophomore album R&G.

And finally for PopGlitz, it’s been a super busy year and so far the first quarter has proven to be productive. We’ve turned the PopGlitz Podcast into The Media Mogul News Hour with JaVonni Brustow on The Misty TV channel on Roku with PopGlitz as the sponsor. We just interviewed Que from Day 26 who we told was our favorite from the show and in the group and Hazel E from Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood who gave an epic account of her battle with Masika Kalysha. We’re also a sponsor of The Blaque Okane Rockfest reality show and tour which features Mysterious aka Misty Blanco from MTV’s Making the Band as she prepares to go on tour with our site Founder JaVonni as the lead judge being shot now for Viacom. And we’re hoping for further growth the rest of the year.
