As the country is back to re-opening after months of being on lockdown, it’s important to remember that the coronavirus is still very much real and people are continuing to catch it. Rapper and Law & Order: SVU actor Ice-T offered that reminder by posting a picture of his wife Coco Austin’s father in a hospital bed wearing an oxygen mask, stating he had contracted covid19.
“Coco’s father checked into the Hospital yesterday. Covid in AZ,” he wrote.
He also posted on Twitter a reminder to wear a mask saying, “At this point, wearing a Mask in public is more of an IQ test..” Honestly, there isn’t even a need to debate this as there’s few things in the world that have been debated more than this virus. Similar to the flu, the flu vaccine is pushed not just for your own health but to prevent from spreading it and possibly killing someone else unknowingly while you continue about your day like normal.
This mask debate isn’t here nor there. All we can do is pray that people will be considerate of others. It’s all fun and games until it’s a relative of yours in the hospital when you begin to think about your woulda shoulda couldas. And this took place in Arizona, a state that is continuing to re-open despite recently experiencing their highest daily total and facing the possibility of running out of hospital beds.
We’re wishing for a speedy recovery for Austin’s father. That isn’t something we would wish on anyone.
