Ja Rule made an announcement of another side hustle of his this week, a tax preparation service. Now this a smart decision with this being tax season. There’s just one problem. He did two years in prison in part for tax evasion so this is a bit of an interesting choice of a business for him to go into. Then there’s the whole Fyre Festival drama where his name is still appearing in a documentary that just aired a third time with his face attached to one of the biggest modern failures of a music festival that actual resulted in one of the people behind it going to jail. So you can only imagine the responses he received on Twitter. “Ja Rule really thinks we trust him with our taxes after what happened at Frye Fest,” one tweeted. “When the IRS debt collector shows up at your door because Ja Rule forgot to file your taxes,” wrote another. Now let’s be clear, the tax service has been around for a decade. He’s just one of the owners. He even stated as such, including the fact that he’s not going to be the one doing anyone’s taxes.

Rule looked at the responses and said, “Black ppl would be so fucking strong if we stuck together support one another shit sad…” And with all jokes aside, he’s right. Now in defense of the criticism, even his friend Wendy Williams today told him that he should have probably considered an energy drink to promote since he still has a nice body. We agree. Anything involving fitness he should have absolutely no trouble selling. We’d go a step further and say something along the lines of a gym franchise.

In the midst of his ranting he said that these wannabe celebrities had better learn how to diversify their portfolios. He’s right because though he might not be the biggest name, he’s going to always be fine financially because he’s got plenty of other income streams beside music. In the end he shared the quote about how arguing with clowns makes you one as well, so he changed his profile picture to a clown. At least he has a good sense of humor. He said he’s been getting hated on since 2003, so as long as he knows and has tough enough skin where he doesn’t crawl in the corner to cry when things like this are going on, he’s fine.
