Joel Osteen just might be the one looking for prayer than the one offering it with recent revelations about goings on at his church coming out. In 2014 it was reported that someone stole $600,000 from his Lakewood Church and today it looks like someone may have found it. A call came in to the morning show “Morning Bullpen” host George Lindsey where a plumber talked about money he found behind a wall while there doing work.
“There was a loose toilet in the wall, and we removed the tile,” the caller said. “We went to go remove the toilet, and I moved some insulation away and about 500 envelopes fell out of the wall, and I was like ‘Oh wow!’” He says he envelopes of cash and checks were found and said, “I went ahead and contacted the maintenance supervisor that was there, and I turned it all in”.
Crime Stoppers of Houston offered $25,000 in 2014 for anyone who can bring forward a lead that results in an arrest but said the statute of limitations has passed and the plumber won’t be receiving any money.
Just the news of this is going to send both him and his church under a microscope. No one hides money behind a wall unless they’re running some criminal racket. Lucky for him the police aren’t who found the money because that could lead to a swift arrest and investigation. Being that this was just a phone call to a radio station, this might not lead to anything but people are looking. Insurance fraud is serious. if he claimed money was stolen and all he did was shove it in the wall, someone is going to end up in handcuffs and soon.
