In the midst of what could potentially be Surviving Chrissy Teigen, Project Runway designer Michael Costello said Chrissy Teigen was a menace to his career and nearly drove him to suicide. This came out a day after she released an apology about her cyberbullying ways. Receipts were posted her telling Costello he should be dead and that his career was as good as over. Immediately the backlash came with people like Real Housewives star Gretchen Rossi saying she was disgusting.
Now this immediately backfired as one by one celebrities have spoken about their horrible experiences working with Michael Costello to include Leona Lewis who he apparently fat shamed when she’s never been fat a day in her life from what we’re aware. Then fashion designer Maxie J said she whooped his a** for calling her the N word, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Falynn Guobadia said he killed her modeling dreams and now Teigen’s husband John Legend said this bombshell he dropped about Chrissy Teigen was completely fabricated.
“Chrissy apologized for her public tweets, but after her apology, Mr Costello fabricated a DM exchange between them. This exchange was made up, completely fake, never happened,” Legend tweeted today. “Honestly I don’t know why anyone would fake DMs to insert themselves in this narrative, but that’s what happened. I encourage everyone who breathlessly spread this lie to keep that same energy when they correct the record,” Legend continued.
Teigen’s rep said there were “technical inconsistencies in the messages saying they could have been “manipulated.” To start, it was pointed out that there was no verified check mark on her profile in the 2014 messages Costello shared. To be fair, verification marks were introduced late 2014 and the blue and green messages were introduced in 2020. A video chat icon was in the message which wasn’t available until late 2018 and a profile photo Teigen had changed “no later than December 2016.”
So far Costello’s team responded saying, “The fact that Chrissy Teigen’s team is desperately trying to prove the DM’s are fake and attempts to discredit Michael Costello, a victim of trauma and bullying by Chrissy Teigen both online and offline, confirms that she remains the same bully, despite her public apology,” the statement read.
Costello’s rep also responded to Legend’s tweets, saying in part, “John has been complicit by observing Chrissy bullying many other people on and offline for years. We are not at all surprised by his biased support of his wife.”
We can all have our feelings on both stars but if he doctored messages from Teigen which is the same thing he said happened to him just to help gang up on her, then he deserves all of the public smoke he’s getting and apparently will continue to get since he has a reputation.
