Kanye West opened up explaining what his White Lives Matter shirts meant on of all platforms, Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show. First he said “it’s the obvious thing.” From there he added “The answer to why I wrote ‘White Lives Matter’ on a shirt is because they do.” He referenced a text conversation he had with his father about it telling Carlson, “I said, ‘I thought the shirt was a funny shirt; I thought the idea of me wearing it was funny.’ And I said, ‘Dad, why did you think it was funny?’ He said, ‘Just a Black man stating the obvious.’”

When asked why he thought the statement was controversial, he says “Because the same people that have stripped us of our identity and labeled us as a color, have told us what it means to be Black.” So in other words, this is him choosing not to go the path that’s expected of him. Nevermind that the Anti-Defamation League has deemed the expression “White Lives Matter” as hate speech and it’s been used in KKK recruiting material.
This is akin to his 2016 visit to see then President-elect Donald Trump in Trump Tower. He said he “started to really feel this need to express myself on another level when Trump was running for office and I liked him.” He also said multiple told him “that if I said I liked Trump that my career would be over, my life would be over.” He went on to describe warning of threats saying, “They said stuff like people get killed for wearing a hat like that, they threatened my life,” West said. “They basically said I would be killed for wearing the hat.”
He also says he’s had at least one show cancelled over his White Lives Matter shirts. In a tweet that was up briefly before he deleted it after the first installment of his Tucker Carlson aired Thursday, he wrote “My Sofi Stadium show on November 4th just got canceled. I wonder if it had something to do with my White Lives Matter tee, what y’all think?” He added, “I just got news from Vaughn, that Sofi isn’t available any longer due to inability to staff the event on the current notice. I’ve already asked twice to investigate further if there’s anyway to make it happen regardless, but they got back with a firm no,” the screenshot of a text from Niklas Bildstein said.
A statement from Adidas also has been released stating that their partnership with West is currently “under review.” It read, “After repeated efforts to privately resolve the situation, we have taken the decision to place the partnership under review. We will continue to co-manage the current product during this period.” This puts an end to an almost 10 year partnership he’s had with the brand.
He’s stated before that the Clintons had it out for him which he elaborated on to Carlson saying, “I didn’t know how close my own wife was to the Clintons. When asked just how close was he with the Clinton family, he said “I mean, cellphone away, or, like, ‘Hey, tell Ye to say this’ away,” who said he felt manipulated by his wife at time when she asked him to do things on their behalf.
Jaden Smith was in attendance of his Paris show that debuted the White Lives Matter shirts where he tweeted about leaving saying, “I Had To Dip Lol,” adding “I Don’t Care Who’s It Is If I Don’t Feel The Message I’m Out. Black Lives Matter.” And Kendall Jenner liked the series of tweets.
He also has some support from Karen Osbourne. When he called Black Lives Matter a fraud, she agreed and told TMZ while on Rodeo Drive that she wanted the $900,000 she donated back. She also echoed his thoughts saying they were a scam.
And as for his current feelings, he posted on Instagram, “I’m going to make it so n****s won’t feel like talking to me no more.” Well he seems to be doing a great job with that right now. He’s also promoting a documentary Candace Owens is doing where she’s having a funeral for Black Lives Matter which makes it all make sense. You don’t just light the world on fire without reason. He’s just giving air to the wrong people.
