With the 2020-2021 NBA season not long underway, we’ve learned from Karl-Anthony Towns that while in the off season, he was hospitalized due to a car accident. In an open Q&A on his Instagram Stories where he was asked how he stays strong after overcoming so much, most of us expected him to refer to the whopping 7 family members including his mother who all died from covid in 2020, not to mention him coming down with it himself, but there apparently was more. He spoke about being hospitalized after getting hit by a drunk driver. But most importantly he emphasized his girlfriend Jordyn Woods‘ role in his life that helped him.

“My woman has held me down more than the world knows,” Karl-Anthony said … “From my mother and family members dying (1 on her bday in Cabo), getting hit by a drunk driver (was 2pm in the afternoon FYI) in LA this off-season and staying with me in the hospital for the night and helping me in rehab.” He went on to say “My love for her knows no bounds and I would be remiss if I don’t acknowledge the power a good woman can have in your life.”

The two confirmed their relationship in September and obviously had to be together for some time before that. And if you’re like me wondering, “wasn’t she just on Red Table Talk defending herself for being in a sticky situation with another ball player?” Well buttercup, that’s been almost 2 years ago. It’s hard to believe it but yep… She’s grown up since getting kicked out of Kylie Jenner’s house and labeled as the town harlot.

As for Karl-Anthony’s car accident, he hasn’t given any more information about it but we’re glad to see that he made it out of it without joining the number of relatives he lost last year.
