Kellyanne Conway is a pollster and political strategist that rose to power in 2016 as the first woman to win a presidential campaign and has been an effective yet controversial member of this administration as Counselor to the President since. Also keeping her in the headlines is her marriage to George Conway, a harsh critic of the president to put it nicely. He founded Project Lincoln in the fall of 2019 with the goal of getting President Trump out of office and one can only imagine what that type of combative energy can do to a household. Add in a global pandemic and everyone having to spend time in the house together all day and that’s a recipe for either disaster, political masterminding or one hell of a book.

A quiet ticking time bomb has been the couple’s 15 year old daughter Claudia Conway who has been making TikTok videos about her home life that her mother has been trying to keep a lid on. And the more she’s done that, the more her daughter has been trying to speak out. She tweeted this weekend for someone to hack her mother’s RNC Convention speech and play a #WAP tiktok video of hers. She likely picked up on how that song has been quite the trigger for many on the Right. As for why, well that’s a completely different topic.

Well Kellyanne has now announced she will be leaving the White House to focus on her home life. Her statement reads, “I will be transitioning from the White House at the end of this month. George is also making changes. We disagree about plenty but we are united on what matters most: the kids. Our four children are teens and ‘tweens starting a new academic year, in middle school and high school, remotely from home for at least a few months. As millions of parents nationwide know, kids “doing school from home” requires a level of attention and vigilance that is as unusual as these times.

This is completely my choice and my voice. In time, I will announce future plans. For now, and for my beloved children, it will be less drama, more mama.”

This announcement was followed up by her husband announcing that he would be leaving Project Lincoln for similar home life matters. He tweeted, “So I’m withdrawing from @ProjectLincoln to devote more time to family matters. And I’ll be taking a Twitter hiatus. Needless to say, I continue to support the Lincoln Project and its mission. Passionately.”

The unfortunate part of about Kellyanne Conway leaving her job is that her original detractors will appear to be proven right when they asked in the beginning how did she plan on balancing her job and homelife. You might remember that her answer once was that no one ever asks men how they balance their affairs and golfing. Shortly after, a Communications person within the White House at the time stepped down over an affair. That was a hell of a power move there. But at this moment, taking care of family at a time where many are losing their minds at home is completely understandable.
