For weeks now clips of Khia recording a video to her hit K Wang Wit It from 2001 have been circulating and the online jokes have been writing themselves. But as the end of the video says, “a lot of things have changed in the last 20 years, but one thing remains the same… We are the KWangers.” Then she proceeded to sing We are the World in a parody fashion, only as she could. And she’s right. This song has been a hit and a consistent one since its release.
So just why did Khia dig this song up for a video? Well to start, she looks amazing in the video and the aesthetics are all good. But the answer is the same reason she does everything else she does… because she can. We are more than certain she listened to new records from Drake and Beyonce and said she’ll be damned if hiphop turns into a gay club. We can hear her now saying, “but somebody has to be the boy.” Lol
We have been more interested in seeing the outcome of this video than either of Beyonce and Drake’s albums, just for the sheer audacity of pulling it off and we think she did well. Khia has a new man now, got a little nip and tuck and said if I want to pull out a 2 decade old song, I can. F putting out new music… even though we would like to hear some more from her. It’s okay.
