It’s been over a week since Kim Kardashian and Kanye West gave birth to their 4th child via surrogate, but they just got around to naming their new baby boy. In a screenshotted text Kanye sent to Kim that she posted, it read, “Beautiful Mother’s Day. With the arrival of our fourth child we are blessed beyond measure. We have everything we need.” And the caption said “Psalm West.” The superstar couple have gone from North, Saint, Chicago and now to Psalm. As such a standout name, one can only wonder, where on Earth did this one come from? It’s obnoxiousness is to be expected as all celebrity names are things none of the rest of us normal people would ever imagine doing but that’s what makes them special, right? See: Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz‘ child Bronx Mowgli Wentz (B.M.W.) or Rob Morrow’s child named “Tu Morrow.” Yep, Tu Morrow as in Tomorrow. So as you can see, it could have been a lot worse.

In recent years, Kanye and Kim have become a lot less superficial and more in tune to trying to live out their full potential and being more religious. She’s been working on becoming an attorney and he’s having weekly church services, so why not name your child after one of the books of the bible? And if Kanye were to choose a book of the bible, Psalm fits perfectly. Being as though it stands for a song and he makes music, or more specifically spiritual renditions of his music at his church services, the child’s name represents exactly where he is in life. We’re wishing these two the best… well, these 6, actually.
