One of Hollywood’s most memorable faces, Ken Osmond, who played Eddie Haskell in Leave it to Beaver just passed away at his home at 76. The kid who politely would tell his neighbor “Good morning, Mrs. Cleaver, that’s a very pretty dress!” and immediately proceeded to go in the house to be mean had quite the iconic name.

Due to typecasting, Osmond disappeared from Hollywood for some years with a number of conspiracy theories about his whereabouts going around the entire time from him transforming into rock star Alice Cooper and even porn star John Holmes. His name was even lit up on a theater board once saying Eddie Haskell was on display in the nude. He physically paid them a visit and had it removed.

Osmond representative Bonnie Vent released a statement about his passing saying, “He was an incredibly kind and wonderful father. He had his family gathered around him when he passed. He was loved and will be very missed.” His son Eric Osmond made a statement saying “He was an incredibly kind and wonderful father. He had his family gathered around him when he passed. He was loved and will be very missed.”

The man behind his best friend Wally Cleaver on Leave It to Beaver, Tony Dow said “He was a terrific guy, he was a terrific actor and his character is probably one that will last forever. He was one of the few guys on the show who really played a character and created it.”

Beaver Cleaver, played by Jerry Mathers tweeted, “I have always said that he was the best actor on our show because in real life his personality was so opposite of the character that he so brilliantly portrayed.”

Osmond was an icon and certain to remembered just as fondly for his mark in history as he has already over the years.
