Lil Kim just had a performance Saturday, March 9th in Atlantic City for the 22nd anniversary of Biggie’s death at HQ² nightclub with Hot 97. She discussed the Brooklyn rapper’s influence on her career and life while there, how Junior M.A.F.I.A. got started and more. Speaking of Junion M.A.F.I.A., they’ll be reuniting with Kim on May 21st, what would have been Biggie’s 47th birthday. This is a big deal as she’s called them about every name in the book since the year and a day she had to do in prison for perjury because she chose not to snitch and their frontman Lil Cease testified against her. Well that’s now been nearly 15 years ago so it must all be water under the bridge apparently.

And while it’s nice to see her out performing, the only thing better than that is knowing she has new music coming out soon. And it isn’t just new tracks, she’s got a full new album coming out some time this year. We’re not aware of a release date yet which is probably a good thing considering the number of times she’s said it’ll be out soon and that soon never came to fruition. The new album, titled Nine has fans coming to their own conclusion on what it stands for citing the date of Biggie’s death being March 9th and the birthdate of daughter Royal Reign being June 9th. Recent singles of hers Nasty One and Go Awff might be on the album but for now we’re not sure.

Kim saved her home from foreclosure, has been getting compliments on her look, has new music on the way, but the more things change, the more they stay the same. She took a little dig at Nicki Minaj about her recently calling herself the Queen of Rap. She called her “obnoxious” and for good reason. “I don’t really care about that either,” she said during the interview about Minaj. “I was named that; I never named myself that. It’s a difference. When the streets name you that, Biggie named me that. I didn’t name myself that. When you gotta name yourself, that’s a whole different thing, I would never name myself that.” She went on to say: “The problem with her is she was very catty about it. I never had a problem with her. I was always nice with her. She was a very obnoxious person.” This is interesting because last year she asked to stop having Minaj brought up in interviews because the media just wanted the two of them in a fight. But sometimes you just have to address things. It’s okay. She gets a pass from us if for no other reason than the fact she’s finally releasing another album.

Kim was also on Instagram looking amazing in Barbados with Mya and Chili from TLC reportedly filming for a new show named Girls Crew. It’s supposed to be airing on VH1 and as for the date, that isn’t clear. It looks like 2019 is turning into Kim’s year so far after all.
