It has been some 17 years since the obsession over DL men took over the country yet women still are trying to figure out if they’re dating closeted gay men. We’ve come across a list of behaviors Nigerian matchmaker Good Ereseh put together that should be all you need to know if your man is “completely gay” as he says.

1. He constantly stares at guys more than women.
2. He could be gay if he criticizes gay people too much.
3. He could be gay if he appears to be too damn faithful.
4. He could be swinging if you have no issues with him concerning other women.
5. For some reason #5 is missing from list. Don’t ask us. ¯\_(?)_/¯
6. He keeps more male friends on social media than women.
7.
That brother could be holding blowing pipes, when he tries to avoid sex with you.
8.
He could be seeing guys when he doesn’t disturb you to have sex with him and on the other hand you thanking God that you have met a man that isn’t after sex.
9.
When he suggests you both invite a guy to bed so the both of them can satisfy you, sister run because he’s bringing his friend in to caption your brain thinking he is so understanding.
10.
When he cares too much about how he looks like female friends you have. There is something about it when he starts to care about his physical appearance.
11.
He wants to feel how you feel during penetration, he wants you to insert your finger down there.
12.
I repeat this, if he doesn’t check other women out he is completely gay. Don’t argue, he is not being faithful to you he just doesn’t find the need to feel attracted to women. Instead he talks about men more.
13.
If he praises a particular male friend of his more than you, the one that claims to hold his heart, trust me that guy could be his gay partner.
14.
He is classically touchy with other men, enjoys hugs, holding hands and even loves the male bathroom hehehehehehe.
15.
He enjoys other’s sexuality, it’s an interesting topic for him, trust me n*cca is gay.

This is an interesting list and as a gay person I can attest a lot of the list being true. On top of that, living in the nation’s capital, a city full of DL men because for whatever reason, despite same sex marriage being legal, it’s still a faux pas professionally. You can say spotting other gay men has become a sixth sense for me. A lot of this list makes sense, especially the one about criticizing gay men too much, having more male friends on social media and talking about one of his male friends all the time. Trust me, I tried to nitpick and argue with the author, but he’s right.

The only possible gripe I have with this list is about a man being “too faithful.” I mean that’s just asking for a fight. If you decide to start an argument with your man because he isn’t showing cheating signs, you probabloy need help. And lastly, one of the most demeaning things you can do to a straight man is accuse him of being gay. Emasculating a man is likely the best way to end up single. The same even applies with gay men because they’re still men. For the Love & Hip Hop viewers ou there, this manifests itself with singer K Michelle. She is constantly getting into fights with guys that she ends up calling gay. All the men on these shows simply can’t be gay. But just as we stated, that’s why she’s single.

Lists like these are also why we have this modern phenomenon of “toxic masculinity.” Perhaps if women stopped going around accusing every man they see as gay, they wouldn’t be overcompensating with unnecessarily extra masculine behavior. So again, use this list with a grain of salt and whatever you do, don’t overreact if you see some resemblance of a trait or two here. Life isn’t over and if you have an honest relationship, the truth should show itself.
