Drake has never exactly been known as the most manliest of men with the exception of his alleged lipo and hitting the gym lately. So it isn’t any surprise that he would be punching down making fun of a woman. That’s what happened with him and Megan Thee Stallion when he chose to use her getting shot by rapper Tory Lanez on his new album. The track Circo Loco goes, “This b*tch lie about getting shots, but she still a stallion / She don’t even get the joke but she’s still smiling.” And backlash came almost immediately afterwards which was to be expected.
In a Twitter response, Meg wrote “I know I’m very popular but y’all gotta stop attaching weak ass conspiracy theories in bars to my name lol. Stop using my shooting for clout … Since when tf is it cool to joke abt women getting shot? You … ready to boycott shoes and clothes but dog pile on a black woman when she say one of your homeboys abused her.” But she wasn’t the only one. Marc Lamont Hill jumped in saying “Started listening to Drake’s album. Was 3 tracks in when I read about the Megan Thee Stallion reference on Twitter. I won’t be finishing the album. And please don’t tell me it’s just wordplay… or that it went over my head. I’m very smart. I got it. Doesn’t make it less gross.”

And Megan wasn’t the only woman he took a jab at. Serena Williams, who has been married for 5 years somehow today ended up witnissing her husband being dragged, all over the two of them dating not working out. In the song Middle of the Ocean he spitted, “Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie/He claim we don’t got a problem but/No, boo, it is, like you comin’ for sushi/We might pop up on ’em at will like Suzuki.” Again, she’s long moved on so what was the purpose of that?
Years ago TheDailyBeast ran a headline calling him the thirstiest rapper in the game which apparently is still true because mocking a domestic violence incident in a song is only something a thirsty person would do. As we’ve said before, he’s the same corny rapper he was before he buffed up and it shows.
