Mob Wives star Drita D’Avanzo had her Staten Island home raided today, leading to her and her husband being arrested on both drugs and weapons charges. Among the things found in the 43 year old reality star’s home she shares with her 50 year old husband Lee D’Avanzo were two loaded Smith & Wesson guns, a 9mm and a .38 caliber, a 120 pills of hydrocodone/acetaminophen, 22 Xanax pills, marijuana and a scale. Charges include criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon and acting in a manner injurious to a child since their kids were there at the time of the raid with all of this illegal activity going on. The only thing in this that raises my eyebrow is why are 22 Xanax pills being reported on? Unless it’s in someone else’s name, isn’t that a regularly prescribed amount for any type of a pill? Who is involved in distributing drugs and only have less than a month’s worth.
It isn’t clear why the home raid occurred but if we were to take a stab at the situation, we’d probably say that engaging in illegal behavior after appearing on a show called Mob Wives which is literally about criminals probably puts a target on your head. How do you publicize criminal behavior and not end up in prison? I actually assumed these women and their spouses had all cleaned their acts up while on the show, but apparently that’s not the case. And if there’s any incentive to do so, her bio for the show that ran for 6 seasons ending in 2016 is good reason. It describes her husband as someone “who federal prosecutors allege is the leader of a Bonanno and Colombo crime family farm team.” It goes on to say, “While Drita’s husband is serving time in prison for bank robbery (for the second time), she is left alone raising two young girls, Aleeya and Gizelle. Drita, who comes from a strict Albanian household, defied her parents and married someone outside the community — an Italian.”
Pro Tip: If you don’t want to end up as Karen Huger of The Real Housewives of Potomac would say in the “clinkety clink,” you probably shouldn’t have illegal behavior you’re associated with in your current bio or if you do, make sure you’re not doing it anymore to give police reason to snoop around and find a reason to put you away to eternally pick up a bar of soap. Just saying.
