Nicole Murphy appeared on the Wendy Williams Show today to clear up reports of her kissing a married man, Antoine Fuqua. She for the most part described it as a mistake thinking that his relationship apparently was ending or not as serious as it is and tried to change the topic blaming social media for the reaction she received. “It was a frozen-in-time thing,” she told Wendy. “Trust me, I wish it didn’t happen. It was a moment where I should’ve thought more through the situation. Make better judgments. It’s something I apologized for.” As for reports of her being close friends with his wife Lela Rochon, she said that’s not true and that they’re not friends. She also pushed back on the idea that she contributed to the ending of their marriage. And remember the statement saying he was just a family friend despite some very hot and steamy pics of the two of them kissing? She said she didn’t put that out. Well at least we know she’s not completely crazy now. Whew.

She went on to say “It was a moment that should not have happened. I regret it. I apologized for it. I’m a human being, it was a mistake.” She urged women to do their research into men they’re seeing because “this could happen to you.” And the part that Wendy got caught up on was her saying, “At the moment, maybe I had a different impression of [their marriage].” When asked what was her impression, that’s when she put her hand in Wendy’s face and got defensive. She also incessantly blamed social media, even to the objection of Wendy who told her “Don’t blame social media.” And keep in mind, Wendy is in a divorce now with a cheating husband so if anyone isn’t going to sit and let a flimsy excuse like that go by, it would be her. She explained how she didn’t leave the house for weeks because she had paparazzi waiting to catch her outside and then when she didn’t go anywhere, old photos of her out began circulating to make it look like she was in places she didn’t go. While that is a valid point, it doesn’t affect the story of her having fun with a married man and getting caught.

And do you know who disapproves of all this? K Michelle. She tweeted that Nicole Murphy was so disappointing and then deleted it. She instead tweeted that to sit on a couch and laugh considering what she did was pathetic. She does have a point because Murphy did do quite a lot of laughing while on the show. We’re just going to chalk it up to nervous laughter. If she had something to promote to justify her appearance so that that wouldn’t be the sole reason she was coming on the show, would have been better. You can’t get irate and bothered by a topic when that’s the only reason you showed up. And when you’ve been caught with your proverbial pants down the way she did, a little humility would go a long way. Hopefully she’s learned from this “mistake” of hers and doesn’t go on to repeat it. She did, however look at the camera and address Rochon at Wendy’s request saying, “Darling, it was a mistake. I apologize.” The object lesson here is something we heard years ago on the Real Housewives of Atlanta from Nene Leakes. “Close your legs to married men.” Trust us, that’s always good advice to follow.
