There is curently an investigation into the New York Police Department for a commander of theirs giving orders to shoot 50 Cent on the spot. It was a Brooklyn precinct commander who told his officers to “shoot him on sight.” The remarks was made June 7th of 2018 when he was expected to attend a NYPD sanctioned boxing match in the Bronx. The threat was made by Deputy Inspector Emanuel Gonzalez, the commanding officer of the 72nd Precinct in Sunset Park. “The inspector just said that at roll call,” the source said. “I’m like WTF,” a source with knowledge of the incident said. The statement has since sparked a probe to begin. “The incident is under internal review,” a department spokesman said.
This stems from a bit of an e-beef these two have had. Gonzalez has been in the news for attempting to shakedown a Brooklyn club that 50 Cent frequents, Love & Lust by constantly harrassing the owner Imran (Star) Jairam with repeat liquor license inspections and demanding tickets to Puerto Rico in exchange for being left alone. The owner declined and their liquor license was revoked and club ultimately shut down. Jairam has said he “should be stripped of his badge.” “This just shows his personality,” Jairam said. “This is a guy who should be protecting us,” he continued.
During the match, 50 sat next to Jairam’s attorney Eric Sanders ata the New York Expo Center in the Bronx and was even asked to comment on the matches. “I always knew that a flea has more integrity than Gonzalez,” Sanders said when asked about the investigation into the alleged threat. “Now we can add ‘unhinged’ to this clown’s horrible reputation.” “When is the PC going to finally clip his wings?” Sanders asked.
50 called him out online saying “Get the strap” on Instagram which some say is slang for getting a gun while others assume it means to get a belt. I’ve never heard of the gun reference, by the way. Gonzalez filed a police report stating that 50’s fans were sending him threats like “F–k this commander” and “Blast this fool,” in 50’s comments leaving him “in fear of his safety.” The post was eventually taken down, and an investigation into the complaint lead to no charges being filed.
A rep for 50 responded saying “Mr. Jackson takes this threat very seriously and is consulting with his legal counsel regarding his options going forward,” the rep said. “He is concerned that he was not previously advised of this threat by the NYPD and even more concerned that Gonzalez continues to carry a badge and a gun.”
Sunday morning 50 Cent responded to the orders for him to be shot saying “This is how I wake up this morning,” he wrote on Twitter. “This guy Emanuel Gonzales [sic] is a dirty cop abusing his POWER. The sad part is this man still has a badge and a gun. I take this threat very seriously and I’m consulting with my legal counsel regarding my options moving forward.”
