What was meant to take down the Osundairo brothers, the alleged attackers of Jussie Smollett backfired and has had the reverse effect and has propelled their careers if anything. Abel Osundairo just met Floyd Mayweather, the biggest name in boxing, at his gym in Vegas, which is sure to raise his star power. They even spent time at Mayweather’s club later that night. And it wasn’t just any meeting. He’s been using his trainer, Nate the Snake Jones to help him with his boxing game as he’s considering trying to join the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo representing his home country of Nigeria. He won a title in Chicago’s Golden Gloves tourney this April, so why not? But boxing’s not the only thing Abel’s been up to. We reported recently that he has a starring role in the film Friends Family & Lovers which was directed and co-written by the same person behind the Master P produced comedy I Got the Hook-Up 2.

And this leads us back to Jussie Smollett. What has he been up to lately besides selling homes of his and suing the city of Chicago for malicious prosecution? TheRoot may have considered it a win that the Chicago Police Superintendent who was adamant that Smollett was guilty may be out but the Special Prosecutor is still working on his original case based on the States Attorney Kim Foxx’ actions in handling things. But everyone’s not against him. He still has a supporter in Empire co-star Taraji P. Henson.

Henson did an interview with Self about her feelings about the matter saying, “No one is perfect. If I’m your friend, I can’t judge you,” she stated. “I just can’t. I could do something, and I wouldn’t want you to turn your back. We’re humans. We’re flawed. No one is perfect. I might not necessarily agree with everything, but I think every human deserves some form of humanity, some form of compassion.” When asked if she had any backlash over her support for Smollett, she said, “I haven’t really had any backlash. At the end of the day, I can love a person through their flaws, you know? People have had to love me through my flaws.” The case of Jussie Smollett’s still going strong and a few weeks shy of a full 12 months. We’ll keep you all posted on further developments.
