Oscar de la Hoya has been dating Golf channel star Holly Sonders since the summer and already the 34 year old has gotten a tattoo of him on the upper part of her back. It’s a photo of him after winning his gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona with the caption “Golden Boy” underneath.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, he told them how much the gesture meant to him saying, “It actually tops everything that I’ve ever been given. Who can top this?” Oscar says, “I’ve been given everything you could possibly imagine. And a tattoo, a beautiful portrait of me looking up at the sky to my mother. The ’94 Olympic Games were just incredible.” As for why she did it, she said, “There was no reason for it. I have 3 tattoos. I’ve wanted a 4th for a while.”
Now no woman chooses to ink another man’s face on their body without reason or just on the fly. Here’s what she had to say about it when she made the announcement on Instagram about a week ago:
“Dear Oscar,
“You have everything in life. There is nothing I can give you that you haven’t received already…except for this. This tattoo signifies the day you became The Golden Boy. The moment you won the gold medal at the 1992 Olympics and looked up at your mother who had passed a few months prior. When deciding on an artist to bring this moment to life, there was no question that I wanted it to be your sisters husband @tattooesteban. I love you @oscardelahoya.”

Anyone remember when Jermaine Dupri got a tattoo of Janet Jackson on his side and ended up single not long after? We’re just saying…
