Many have blamed his girlfriend Stephanie Sibounheuang for sharing his location which took place under an hour before he was killed. It caused contention with people split over their feelings on the matter with people like Nicki Minaj saying rappers should know better than to share their location after what happened to Pop Smoke. And not missing a chance to take a jab at her nemesis, Cardi B said the woman shouldn’t be blamed and that she doubts people were looking at her Stories. She said people sit outside plotting all the time.
The security guard that gave him CPR before paramedics arrived spoke to Rolling Stone magazine saying, “I did what anybody, I hope, would do for me,” he said. “I was telling him, ‘Be calm, be calm, get control of your breathing. Don’t trip on what you thought you seen, get control of your breathing.’ And then his breathing declined. It went all the way down. I think he was gone. He was just gone.” He says he was told what to do by a 911 operator while on Rock’s girlfriend’s phone with her shouting in the background. “She was screaming and didn’t know what to do,” he said. “The robbery happened fast. They took some items. He had multiple chains on. Ice T says there are rappers who forego chains in LA because the city is dangerous.
As it stands, pawn shops have been put on alert about the chain and police are hopeful it will help lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
