R Kelly and his ex Andrea are currently exchanging the pettiest of attacks back and forth with each other in the media right now. Yesterday Andrea, frustrated with everything she’s been dealing with with R. Kelly like his sporadic child support payments when he’s taking care of multiple women living with him, she went on TMZ Live and told him he could get a job at Del Taco to pay off the $32,000 he owes. Ouch. And determined not to let her have the last word, he said she should get behind the counter at Burger King to take care of their child.
Mind you, Kelly and Drea’s child Buku Abi is 21 with her own career, but the agreement is that he take care of her til 23 which is ridiculous to Kelly’s crises manager Darrell Johnson who feels she’s an adult and shouldn’t be taken care of by his client. Child support’s $21,000 a month and at the moment he’s $32,000 behind. Kelly’s attorney Steven Greenberg has said his client is sick of her trashing him and says “she needs to get a life.”
In an upcoming episode of Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta, Drea tears up about the stress she’s been encountering making her go through an emotional rollercoaster due to being publicly bashed by Kelly and his fans. “When I think about the ways that I have been abused by Robert, from being hogtied, having both of my shoulders dislocated, to being slapped, pushed, having things thrown at me, the sexual abuse, the mental abuse, words can’t even describe,” she said. “Here I am, putting myself in a position because I want to help women, and they are attacking me.”
“There’s some things that I don’t even speak anymore, that I feel like, once you give it to God, you better leave with God, because if I don’t leave it with God, I’m definitely going to be somewhere with my hands on the glass, visiting my children every other Sunday,” Andrea tearfully added.
It isn’t always fair to judge the personal lives of others, but despite what type of person Drea is, she has to sit and watch her ex’ mess of a life unfold everyday and still deal with him not paying child support while parading women around he’s taking care of which in and of itself can’t be easy, on top of being attacked and berated by Kelly and all around him, it would be enough to drive anyone up the wall. All we can say is for her to hang in there and for Kelly to quit picking on women. Pay the bill, don’t pay the bill but shuttup picking on her already.
