While waiting for Jussie Smollett to get formally charged with his set of likely pending felonies, rapper Blueface apparently beat him to it. He’s just now been charged with possession of a fully-loaded, unregistered handgun on his person or in a vehicle, stemming from his February 1st arrest. The police simply rolled up on a group of guys that the police saw outside and thought they were at risk of being robbed given the neighborhood and amount of jewely they had on. A number of robberies had occurred there, so they were trying to do them a favor. What resulted was them all running for the police and trying to ditch their guns along the way. Blueface, born Johnathan Porter and another one of them weren’t so lucky and ended up getting arrested. After spending the night in prison, he was released on $35,000 bail.
But this isn’t the first of the 22 year old’s arrests. Just this past November he had a shootout with a man who robbed him at a gas station and arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Personally, I think that one was justified. When you rob people, you should be shot by them… plain and simple.
The unfortunate part about it is that he’s just become popular as he just scored a track with Cardi B, ‘Thotiana’, literally 12 months after he started rapping. That’s phenomenal. The problem is, he just needs to keep his nose clean legally and he’ll continue having a hot career. Sadly, this felony carries a maximum of 3 years.
