Rapper Gunplay was arrested last month with after pointing a fifle at his wife Vonshae Taylor-Morales’s chest while she was carrying their 6 month old child. His charges include aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, and child abuse. And even with all of that going on, his wife says she’s unable to divorce him. In a Saturday morning Instagram Live session, she said “I filed for divorce. He would not sign divorce papers. So, I’m stuck.” She went on to say, “Unfortunately in the state of Florida, I cannot divorce him without his permission. Unless he goes to jail convicted or he’s a mental institution patient.”

“He do love you. I love him. That’s my best friend. But, unfortunately, sometimes you have to let the person you love go so he can find himself,” she told her $96,000 followers. “And I want him to find himself and to get help. We do have a child together so it is what it is. I’m not a evil bitch. We’re not fighting. Yeah, no. We all know he has issues. He needs help. He’s going to get the help he needs. And we will co-parent. That’s all we want to do.”

As for what caused the couple to get to the point they’re in now, she explained in the days following her husband’s arrest that he had broken a porcelain sink, “asking Do you guys understand how unhinged he was to break a porcelain sink after I left!!!!” She said she tried couple’s therapy and it didn’t work. She says since he’s been in jail he’s been contacting her friends and family trying to get them to trash her online. She added: “I hope the justice system doesn’t fail another black woman and child. If they do, he still will NEVER be able to be around me or my child. It doesn’t matter however y’all spin it. Pulling a gun out on your family and then choking a child in the midst is UNACCEPTABLE.”

Just this weekend Vonshae shared a video of Gunplay taking a frying pan and attacking a television after asking her if she threw out his things. Even considering the monetary value of whatever was thrown away, that’s extreme. Hopefully they can work through whatever they’re going through so they can peacefully co-parent whether they’re together or not.
