For the Love & Hip Hop fans out there, you may remember when Safaree left the Hollywood franchise to star in the New York one where he basically got schooled in the first episode about his reckless behavior. To start, he hadn’t long been robbed of his jewelry after performing songs literally threatening someone to take his jewelry. Joe Budden told him that wasn’t smart. And he let him know that to get robbed and go out and buy the exact same jewelry over again wasn’t that bright either. He started crying in an interview talking about being robbed at gunpoint which pretty much ensure it’s going to happen again, sadly.

But anyway, Carl Harry, 1 of the 3 men that robbed Safaree chose to make a plea deal without going to trial to avoid a potential 20 years in prison. The recommended sentence is 364 days in the Bergen County Jail and 5 years of probation after that for conspiracy to commit theft. Trial for the other 2, Shawn Harewood and Tacuma Ashman have a trial scheduled for this December and have full 7 count indictments for both of them. Harry’s sentencing will take place in January.

There are two object lessons in this case with Safaree. One is that you probably shouldn’t be threatening the public to rob you and get surprised when it happens and secondly, the subsequent actions of the robbers themselves. One of them went on Youtube not long after it happened with their face covered in a bandanna literally explaining why the robbery happened saying it was for some back end production payday they never received. And to think, they might have gotten away with it if it weren’t for that. We’ve had a number of artists getting robbed in recent years and taunted on social media with their stolen goods. It’s all cute and funny until you’re standing on trial facing over a dozen felonies. Oh, and make sure there’s no cameras around when you commit the robbery because this entire situation was filmed in a parking garage. smh
