‘Would You Mind’ is a song by Atlanta based R&B group Bluff City that samples Janet Jackson’s 2001 hit of the same name. When it came out in 2015, it had comments from fans saying things like “REAL R&B IS BACK!” and their group member Trevante’s voice was described as golden on the track by another. Produced by The Exclusives, the song sports vocals that we don’t typically hear in R&B in recent years. They’ve said on Instagram that the stage is their home and from their performances you can definitely tell that. They appeared on Jagged Edge’s Views from the Edge podcast where they said R&B is not dead and is alive and well in their hands.

They appeared on Jacquees’ King of R&B tour where they performed songs like their track All You Need that they recorded with him and Quavo. And with lyrics as raunchy as saying “Would you mind if I pulled out the handcuffs, attach it to the bed for the rough stuff/ Would you mind if I said it was just us/ pulled up 4 deep baby just Bluff” along with the “Would you mind if I made that p*ssy mine” playing through the chorus, they clearly have all the makings to be modern day R&B heartthrobs.
