One of the more iconic moments in Love & Hip Hop history is Atlanta is rapper Karlie Redd performing an impromptur song she made up on the spot for Stevie J. About a decade later, the song with a slightly awkward two step is still viral. At the time she was embroiled in a bit of messiness as she had been friends with Stevie’s baby mother Mimi Faust and had told her he had been cheating with his artist Joseline Hernandez while simultaneously asking him to produce her. Looking back, years later she says she’s made a lot of money from that viral moment receiving a ton of bookings over the years.
And we’ll add she’s not a bad artist, either. She went on to record this as a song and the sheer vitality of this viral moment is what landed this piece of Love & Hip Hop history in today’s ThrowBackThursday basket. But in other Karlie Redd news, she recently landed her first iTunes #1 single, Werk with Spice & Capella Grey which is quite impressive to say she did this at about 48. Kudos to Karlie on that one.
