Rapper Tory Lanez went from being the hottest thing on Instagram with his Quarantine Radio show to being in the industry doghouse after shooting his girlfriend, rapper Megan thee Stallion. And he’s been silent about it for months until today when he said he’s going to open up about it at 9pm PST which at the time of this post is in a couple hours. This is going to be a career defining moment for Lanez. For one, what could he possibly say to make this looks acceptable or understandable? Then there’s the suspense of everyone waiting to hear what he has to say that’s only going to make it worse if it’s bad.
To my fans … I’m sorry for my silence …. but respectfully .. I got time today …… 9 PM PST .

Joe Budden tweeted saying he believes he’s dropping a song and it’s going to be a top 5 on this app. Now if he decides to do that, while it can seem to be smart to capitalize off of the controversy, it definitely looks like an incredibly cheap move and could backfire profusely.
If a song is coming it’s gonna be a top 5 night on this app.

T.I. did an interview with Complex magazine talking about it all sharing what he was told by Lanez about what happened. Starting off prefacing the importance of supporting Megan, he said, “I feel like Black women are the most attacked, least protected, least defended, most vulnerable, and most exposed species on this Earth. I don’t know what the fuck happened. I know what she says happened, but I don’t know why it happened. But I know if it did happen, that’s everybody’s responsibility to make sure that this young lady feels supported and that she knows that the community and the culture is behind her. I think that’s important. I think that’s all of our obligation and responsibilities, not even as artists, or as rappers, or as executives in this business, but as men, as a Black man. We can’t allow nobody, myself included, to be out here goddamn letting off shots at women in bikinis. Now, I just have a problem with that.”

He continued speaking about the conversation he had with Lanez saying, “Listen, I don’t know, man. But, I spoke to him and he said the shit didn’t happen like that. I said, ‘Well, you need to be saying something, bruh. How did it happen?’ And he said he couldn’t say nothing about how it did actually happen. I told him I understood that. I said, ‘Man, you can’t expect nobody to ignore the facts that are being presented if you don’t have any other conclusive facts that can overturn these. You got to say something, bruh.’ If you ain’t going to say nothing, you can’t expect nobody else to. I ain’t about to just shut up when you got facts out here that say it’s a woman been shot at the hands of another Black man within the culture. We’ve got to speak out on that. We’re the fuck n***as if we don’t.”
We have a theory of what happened and that’s that he started feeling himself a little too much since getting his new hairline. Anyway, the internet didn’t exactly take very well to his announced comeback and T.I. trying to help him… especially a day after the Breonna Taylor police officer verdict. We have to admit, whatever he says tonight is bound to be newsworthy and we WILL be tuned in.
Tori Lanez doesn’t know how to read the fucking room.

Nobody cares about Tory Lanez sitting in his high chair to explain anything.
