Trey Songz released a message on his Instagram account stating he’s tested positive for covid-19 and has asked his fans to please take the virus seriously.

“Here with a very important message to let you know I tested positive for COVID-19,” he shared. “I’ve taken many tests as I’ve been out protesting, food drives, of course I have a very young son at home, so I get tested periodically and this time it unfortunately came back positive.”

“I will be taking it seriously,” he continued, after stating the death rate of blacks with the virus. “I will be self-quarantining, I will be in my house until I see a negative sign.”

He added that his grandfather died earlier in the year and believes coronavirus was the cause of death. He also added a jab at the president saying, “If you come in contact with Covid, please do say,“ he pleaded. “Please do say. Don’t be like the president.”

While sad, the challenge in all of this is that we have had lockdowns and reduced business since when, April? And no one can be expected to sit at home this entire time. People have been shaming others for social media pics or getting caught on camera out going anywhere.

For a country that’s 75% living paycheck to paycheck, and a growing number of people including celebrities doing OnlyFans for extra money, they’re going to be out and about. The important part is that we’ve all been asked to wear masks, socially distance and to wash our hands. That’s all tha can be asked and Trey, nor anyone else that’s come down with the virus should be shamed for it. But he does get our sincere prayers that he pulls through this.
