It’s been over 35 years since rap legend Tupac left Baltimore in ’88 and now the home that he started working on his rap skills is up for sale. Located on Greenmount Ave on a block that’s already been named Tupac Shakur Way, he first moved there in ’84 at 13. And that was before going on to attend the Baltimore School for the Arts where he met Jada Pinkett Smith. You might recall that for what would have been his 50th birthday last year, Jada shared a ton of his unreleased poems further calling into question just the extent of her “friendship” with Pac. But that’s another story.

As for the home, the 1,798 square foot, three bedroom, two bathroom home is legally zoned for separate units with a first floor tenant that’s been there over a decade and is hoping to be able to stay. They’re currently paying $750 a month plus utilities. And the tenant upstairs is paying $725 plus utilities. What is amazing about this is that this home hasn’t been purchased by anyone and made some type of a historical landmark, museum, etc. This would be a perfect opportunity to do so. The home is cheap and whoever would do it could give both tenants a year or two of rent to go elsewhere. There’s a traveling popup Tupac museum that started this year but that doesn’t mean something permanent can’t be placed in his childhood home. Hint, hint, investors.
