Wendy Williams and her fans are finally getting some closure to this extensive cheating scandal involving her husband Kevin Hunter. A statement was made by him with him vowing to “right some wrongs” and that he was also working on his own sobriety. We’re not sure if that last part is supposed to excuse some of his actions over the last 10 years, but at least he’s attempting to acknowledge his bad behavior and the effects it’s had on others.
“I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family and her amazing fans,” Hunter said. “I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs.”
“28 years ago I met an amazing woman: Wendy Williams. At the time, I didn’t realize that she would not only become my wife, but would also change the face of entertainment and the world. I have dedicated most of our lives to the business empire that is Wendy Williams Hunter, a person that I truly love and respect unconditionally,” he said. “No matter what the outcome is or what the future holds, we are still The Hunter Family and I will continue to work with and fully support my wife in this business and through any and all obstacles she may face living her new life of sobriety, while I also work on mine.”
“I ask that you please give me and my family privacy as we heal,” Hunter added. “Thank you.”
This statement comes after Williams filed for divorce last Thursday, waking him up with a 6:30 a.m. knock at the door serving him with divorce papers disguised as a gift, wrapped neatly with a bow. This comes after over 2 decades of marriage, half of which he spent with a woman 20 years younger than Wendy on the side, who he’s bought a home for who recently gave birth to a child reported to be his.
A personal representative for Williams also made a statement after the divorce filing saying, “Thank you to everyone for respecting the family’s privacy during this time. Kevin is supportive of Wendy and they are working through this process together,” the personal representative for Williams told PEOPLE in a statement at the time. “No additional comment will be provided at this time.”
Another rep for the Wendy Williams Show stated “Wendy and her family have been a part of Debmar-Mercury for over 10 years. We respect their privacy regarding personal matters. As always, we remain committed to bringing an entertaining and topical show to our viewers.”
Sources say Hunter’s presence on her show has been causing tension, even though he’s Executive Producer. A major blow up happened last week that called for Security to break things up and temporarily remove him from the area. He’s been causing her stress, which he’s acknowledged and has agreed to step down as Executive Producer. This is a decision that should be the best for everyone as it’s been reported for some time that he was the cause of a lot of the on set issues that have persisted for some time even before the latest round of cheating allegations.
