Wendy Williams’ son Kevin Hunter, Jr. spent under an hour in jail this week for punching his dad in the nose which came because he didn’t want to hear about him asking for spousal and child support. He chose to do so because he wants to try to keep some resemblance of a good relationship with his son. The problem is he feels that his wife Wendy is turning his son against him. Now for debate sake, let’s say that she is. Given the fact that it’s been revealed he fathered a child with another woman, has likely been cheating since 2007, bought her a house, Ferrari and other things, just sharing that information would make anyone hate the person being described. And let’s not forget how he continued his behavior while she was falling into poor health in full view of the public.
Anyway, Kevin Sr. feels he had a good relationship with his son all the way up through the divorce but it was the spousal and child support that was the last straw. When he was released from jail, their son went traveling to a conference with his mother in Chicago and has been living with her in her apartment. The father’s been writing him lengthy texts and only getting one word responses back. This is fine. Anytime you eff up in a child’s eyes, it’s going to take time to get that trust back. It’ll happen some day. It just won’t be today or anytime soon. That’s for sure.
Now that she’s free of her own man problems to an extent, Wendy’s now opining again on the relationships of others. Oh, we’re kidding. She’s never stopped that, even if some feel she should have. She said on Friday’s show that she felt R Kelly’s ex-wife Drea Kelly knew what he was doing and was a willing accomplice in that she was looking the other way as it was occurring. She even said that she knew what she was getting into as far as his lifestyle long before getting married, given that she was a backup dancer for him. Well, to an extent, she has a point. Being an artist’s dancer means you have more insight to their personal life than others would. And as Wendy said, she probably learned about him and took the opportune time to make a move to be upgraded from dancer to wife. Now that may sound crass but it also sounds like she was speaking from experience as far as how her husband’s mistress moved in on her husband. Drea’s publicist wasn’t exactly pleased with the statement and sent a tweet asking to talk this out to explain her client’s side of the story.
While Wendy might be facing backlash from the Kelly camp, one person she doesn’t have anymore beef with is Howard Stern who lit into her something serious a few months ago ripping her a new one for an entire half hour. He’s since removed the Wendy rant from the re-airs stating that it just made him feel bad and he didn’t want to constantly rehash that over and over again over the air. He said he could and likely would have taken it down after first saying it, that is if his show wasn’t aired live. Given what the woman is going through, it’s good thing that at least everyone isn’t going at her throat.
And one last thing that we noticed about Wendy is that while headed to a business meeting this week, she was seen crossing the street wearing sneakers as she has been for some months, but her feet didn’t look so well. More specifically, the issue was her ankles. They were severely swollen. A Twitter search showed some other people concerned as well. In fact, she looked like she was going to bust through the shoes she was wearing. We’re not doctors but this could be a heart problem. This is one of the reasons we’ve been sympathetic to her lately because a divorce is bad enough, but experiencing it with health problems is another thing.
With all that’s going on in her life, Wendy’s supposedly been shopping around a tell all interview to all the big networks but no one is biting… allegedly. The issue is that while she has a very compelling story, she wants it to be an hour long. R Kelly wasn’t even given an hour recently. At the same time, there’s always exceptions to every rule. She might be able to pull it off. All in all, we just want Wendy healthy to continue doing what it is that she does and not to allow a man to break her because it’s a pretty big deal dropping your husband as your manager 10 or so years into your show in your 50s, moving and trying to keep your career together in the process.
