When Wendy Williams moved into that sober house recently to deal with ongoing addiction issues, she had plenty of time to reflect on her life and make appropriate changes as she deemed fit. And make changes she did as she’s already fired her estranged husband Kevin Hunter as Executive Producer, gave him 48 hours to get his stuff out, changed the deed of her home to her LLC so he can’t stake claim, repossessed the Ferrari he gave his side chick and kicked it all off with divorce papers wrapped in a bow disguised as a gift.

Now that Wendy has effectively parted ways with her husband and quite swiftly, we might add, she’s also decided to part ways with what used to be known as their marital home. She just moved into a new apartment in Manhattan last weekend by herself. “She is feeling healthier, happier and stronger than ever,” a source close to the talk show host stated. “After announcing her divorce and getting Kevin off of her show and out of her life, she is ready to move forward.” The source went on to say, “She did not want to go back to the home [she and Kevin] shared, there were too many memories of their time together.”

“She has been planning this split for a long time and has been really looking forward to starting all over again,” our source explains. “Wendy signed the new lease on her new apartment weeks ago and is excited to be single and in the city as a successful, sexy, independent woman. She is thrilled about this new chapter in her life and feels unstoppable.”

Wendy’s moved on and into her new digs and has a new manager, the famed Bernie Young who has been Executive Producer for the Rosie O’Donnell Show and Co-Executive Producer for Martha, but the process didn’t come easily. An anonymous call to the police came in to the police in January stating her husband had attempted to poison her leading to a welfare check at her residence. Now she didn’t confirm whether he tried to do so or not, but she did appear to address this today in the after show.

“The woman who won Eye Candy happened to have been the woman who gave me — well, now she told me they were cupcakes,” she said. “I saw on the box it said cupcakes from The Cupcake Man or something like that in Jersey, and a legit place so I know they’re not poisonous, so I’m going to share them with the crew… after I take mine.”

Wendy’s been through a lot lately and it’s good to see her coming to her senses. Her ex realizes he’s messed up but sources close to the two have said she’s not willing to hear anything from him about it anymore. “He’s taken a very somber position and is just trying to focus on what’s next,” the source says. “Initially when he and Wendy decided to split they had agreed that he could stay on as her manager. Then she saw new pictures of him out with the mistress again and she cut him completely off, shut down accounts, everything.”

“Wendy is telling people she had no idea he had been having an affair, but when she found out the details, it turned out he had been seeing the woman he had a baby with for 15-16 years,” the insider said. “That made her realize it was time to move forward with her life. Seek treatment and move on. She’s not taking him back.”

“It’s hard after being married for so long and having a family together, to be able to move forward,” added the insider of Williams, who shares son Kevin Jr., 19, with Hunter. “But she realized she had to open her eyes to a bad marriage. So many stick around when they should get out.”

The key take away here is that staying together after something happens in one’s relationship is one thing, but anytime the other person can affect your health and send you into a sober house, that’s when you should probably draw the line. It’s good to see her taking hold of her life again.
