Viral footage of Africans in the Ukraine seeking to flee the country amid ongoing attacks from Russia being attacked and discriminated against caught the attention of rapper Young Thug. What’s happening according to Korrine Sky, a 26-year-old medical student living in the Ukraine said that African students are being told “Ukrainians first” and what’s being shown are Africans being physically dragged off of trains. She added, “Some people have gone to get buses, but they’re not allowing Black people basically onto the buses. They’re prioritizing Ukrainians. That’s what they say.”

So Young Thug took to Instagram and posted in his Stories, “If some of my rap brothers are in, I’m willing to help Africans get out of Ukraine however I can sense they not letting us pass.” He then shared screenshots of those who’ve shown interest in helping to include rapper Strick, private jet broker Kelvin Mensah and music producer Kevin Liles.

While there’s a lot of confusion about just what is going on, some unsure about which side to support, this is a clear instance of a problem and who exactly to help. Let’s hope he’s successful in his efforts.
