As the YSL RICO case continues to see the fate of Young Thug and 13 co-defendants, a monkey wrench has now come to play with two of them being accused of smuggling weed into prison. Court reporter Jozsef Papp, working for the Atlanta-Journal Constitution tweeted that the jury selection process was halted Friday, January 13th upon this revelation.
“Judge Glanville just announced that there is going to be an investigation after someone brought clothing for one of the defendants with contraband (marijuana) in the shoes,” Papp tweeted. “Glanville said one of the defendants also refused with cooperating this morning (taking a shower and getting dressed) and defendants during transport yesterday were causing problems.”

In other YSL news, jury selection has gone into its third week with 20 hardships granted to potential jurors. Recently, on the fifth day of jury selection, Thug’s attorney Brian Steele says a potential juror tried reaching out to him. This lead to an investigation into the matter. Then this week a woman showed up 3 days late to jury duty because she chose to go on vacation in the Dominican Republic and thus was ordered to write a 30 page essay on the importance of jury duty. The trial has even had an act of God come close to getting in the way with the selection halted on Thursday when a level 3 warning on high winds was reported predicting damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour. The entire trial is expected to take 6 to 9 months, that is whenever they’ll get a chance to have a good start because for now it almost comes across as a coordinated conspiracy to prevent that from doing so. But that’s another story for another day.
