There is a viral Atlanta based influencer by the name of DanteTheBody, whose real name is Dante Jamel that has become known for being quite entertaining as a fitness coach and being suggestive and slightly fluid in how he presents himself. This morning he shared on his Instagram page that he was making his “last post” and added a montage of himself during various parts of his life, starting with a note that he said he’s leaving “somewhere on the 26th floor.”

Now just why did we choose to cover this? Because I’ve actually lost track of the number of “last posts” I’ve seen on social media lately and it’s depressing and disturbing. If anything, this would hopefully serve as a reminder that he has people rooting for him as they clearly are in the comments, and we would hope he takes notice and chooses not to do it. He’s still young, has had a good career as far as him being recognized for being a fitness trainer, a lot more than many ever get and probably doesn’t realize that no matter what’s going on, there is always the opportunity to turn things around. And he’s also married with a wife. If for no other reason, he should stick around for her.

Suicide is a serious thing and not to be taken lightly. Anyone that might be contemplating it should call or text the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline which is 988. Suicide is the second highest cause of death fr those under 30 in America and the unfortunate part about it is that only about 5% of suicide attempts are actually successful with people often left with lifelong injuries as a result.

I have known people who have had no sympathy for people who have committed or even attempted suicide, calling it a selfish act, something I will never understand because you never know what a person is going through. In this instance, if you know Dante, please give him a call, go to see him and make sure this doesn’t result in being his actual last post. Make this a testimony instead of a tragedy.
