Just 24 hours after tweeting that this is the most important election of our lifetime and that he absolutely would defeat Donald Trump, President Joe Biden announced he would not be seeking re-election as President of the United States. This comes after weeks of Democrat elites pushing for him to step down after his first general election debate performance against Trump. He followed up his announcement by supporting Vice President Kamala Harris to be his successor. And while Kamala Harris may not have won the Democratic nomination in 2020 as someone who originally polled high in that election, Biden showed his loyalty in supporting his Vice President, unlike former President Trump who literally fed his VP Mike Pence to the wolves on January 6th when his supporters showed up to the Capitol, many of which looked for him to have him unalived.

Celebrities have since chimed in on this major election shake up from Cardi B saying she knew Kamala should have been president in 2020 to Jamie Lee Curtis saying Kamala Harris was “trusted and tested” and a fierce candidate for women’s rights. We’ll also add that after the first debate Trump predicted on camera while out golfing that Biden would be stepping down, said he would have Kamala to deal with and called her pathetic. Now while Joe Biden might be supporting his VP as his successor, it’s not that simple. The Democrat Party still has to pick a nominee at their convention in Chicago in less than a month. While no one has stepped up to challenge Harris, it doesn’t mean she won’t have a challenge at the convention. And just like that the 30 day hunger games for the Democrat race to the White House has begun.
